DescriptionThis is a clapboard house with a brick basement that dates back to the turn of the 19th century. Lemuel Alston constructed it on an eminence high over the Reedy River which he called Prospect Hill. Alston founded the village of Greenville Courthouse. In 1815, he sold his 11, 028 acres in the Greenville District to Vardry McBee and moved to a plantation in Clarke County, Alabama. The building was demolished in 1920.
