It originally stood in the middle of Main Street, near the Ottaray Hotel, but was moved in the 1920s to its current site, in Springwood Cemetery. Printed on verso: 'Greenville, S. C., 'Textile Center of the South, ' is a notable manufacturing, agricultural and educational center. Having 3 million people within 100 miles, it leads the state in commerce. Mild climate and accessibility to mountain or sea make it extremely pleasing to residents and tourists.' |
