Description8 x 10 in.: Black and White photograph is in landscape orientation. In a warehouse lit by wide four-paned windows and smaller clerestory windows three men dressed in U.S. military uniform khakis and wearing fatigue caps are looking at what appear to be Type 97 Chi-Ha medium tank turrets consisting of three rows of eight turrets each. More turrets are visible in the left background. Two pipes run parallel to each other along wall just below the first set of windows. In the right background portions of two buses with some sort of machinery (engines? generators?) on a small platform on back can be seen; one has Japanese or Chinese characters written along the side. Also in the right background a narrow metal pipe runs between three widely spaced columns/supports, the last part of the back wall. An elevated walkway or gantry is supported by columns. Part of another column can be seen in foreground at the right edge of the photograph. Typed in black ink in a white area below is "Mitsubishi Heavy Industries --- Mukden, Manchuria. ed by U.S. Signal Corps, 15 June 1946. View in tank building shop built and equipped by Japanese at a late period in the war. Practically all machine tools and electrical equipment was removed during the period of Soviet occupancy."
